Welcome to our Sale #172, a very special sale focused entirely upon United States and Possessions. These are from several collections including further offerings of the “South Beach” Collection and the first offerings from the “Rocky Mountain Hoard” of better individual items.
Our sale begins with a selection of Autographs and continues on with a strong and diverse section of Postal History by State. Other noteworthy sections can be seen on the front cover Feature Items or our Table of Contents and Cross Reference Index. On the stamp side, we are especially delighted to offer many great quality rarities starting with the famous St Louis Bear Postmaster Provisional issue, and continuing with items from Banknote Special Printings, Postage Due Special Printings, Coils, 4c and 8c Bluish papers, Coil waste issues, and so many other rare items too lengthy to list here. One will also find nice quality multiples and Plate Blocks including key Commemoratives. After the front of the book, we are pleased to offer one of our best-ever offerings of back-of-book featuring great selections of issues: Airmail; Special Delivery; Postage Due; Official, Newspaper, Parcel Post and Due, Shanghai Provisional “Daragh” Overprints, Revenue, Documentary, Proprietary, Wine and finally Hawaii and Philippines.
